might be an easier option than supporting this system
never tried to use OpenSpy but im sure youll nut it
I don’t mind leaving the system up but as said dealing with people’s money in international dollars is difficult, particularly when scrutinized about the “” donatepage is not giving the correct information””. I’m not sure how that happened but my guess is it as a result of the changing rates, or perhaps I simply didn’t accurately estimate the time frame, and or amounts.
Thanks for your work monitoring the system.
Giddy-up, It’s time someone else takes the reins.
This year (the past twelve months) I have deposited some $200 AUD (approximately $125 USD) that more than covers the teamspeak server, web hosting and domain services of about $84 USD p/y.
- Website hosting account: $52.00 USD p/year + Domain Renewal $22.95 USD.
- Database server: $7.50 USD p/quarter.
- GRAW2 game servers: $37.50 USD p/quarter + IP.
- Teamspeak server: $10.00 USD p/year.
(52 + 22.95) + (7.50 x 4 ) + (37.50 x 4) + 10.00 = 264.95 USD = 264.95 USD = 403.81 AUD
It has become a complicated game keeping track of how to accurately account for the costs, I do not have the time to devote to this task anymore and you all deserve better.
It’s my guess that this will become more difficult in the coming months as the affects of the pandemic unfold, particularly with respect to the exchange rates.
Thanks to all for donating?
It’s hard to account for all the different exchange rates but I think the next payment is due in a month or two, It will be August in about two months so my estimation is pretty close : )
*Estimate based on the most recent conversion rate, including our currency conversion fee.Transfer Money
May 16, Reinxxxxx, undefined, Donation received, +$52.72
NABTransfer from bank account
May 09, undefined, Transfer from bank account, +$100.00 << from me
What is confusing is that our account is in aussie dollars and when I pay in US dollars it’s only about 0.66 US, it’s a bit of a PITA
I’m happy to email more details?
our account is at -zero and given the current situation the world is coming to terms with I completely understand that funds will be much harder to find.
I deposited another $100 into the account today and I remember a time not so long ago that I said I wouldent be doing that gain but it’s done, nevertheless, this is (most definitely) the last time. 100 Australian dollars is about 65 US so that is going to last less than 6 months.
Enjoy it while you can!
We can give it a try,
Three steps to get started:
- I did a post about how to update the the database here and I can do that easily
- Then install the game and send me the .exe I’ll also need a copy of the server .exe
- Then you need a SADS running on a routable IP address to test it.
If you want to create a new game project start a thread in here and we can get to work on it.
sounds like a plan, let’s know if I can help
Well it seems to be working now, I cant fully test it but I will do in the next few hours.
If someone can report back here that it is working that would be great
So, I’ve started up all services using the cli and it’s not working, it appears that the VM has a firewall.
Still waiting for support to answer…
I have got access to the database server but only the console and not the GUI, I’ll update this post when I work out how to use multiple consoles
happy new year to you all, I’m a bit late for a Merry christmas but better late than never
@lowlander “Had to start them maually, have to look into that and fix it….”
Check the “Task Scheduler” in “Administrative Tools”, I think there is a start up I configured in there but I disabled it because – to use a phrase that windows uses – “something went wrong”. Anything I can do to help, let’s know. : )
I will look into a startup script for cron to get TeamSpeak running at boot.
yep at it again…
This is a reminder for the power maintenance scheduled for tomorrow. The datacenter will be performing emergency power maintenance in our San Jose, CA facility on our cabinet.
This will result in power loss to all of our servers in San Jose for approximately 3 hours between 10 AM and 1 PM (PST) on 11/21/2019. The datacenter will take preventative steps to ensure the servers are safely powered down during this maintenance event. To further avoid the risk of data loss, please remotely power down servers before the maintenance window begins.
Please visit the Network Status page in the billing area for any updates about this maintenance. If you have any questions or concerns please contact our support team through the ticketing feature on our billing panel.
got to love it
Teamspeak is back up, no telling for how long. I’m looking into other hosts for teamspeak, I’ll give plenty of warning if and when it changes, however…
To avoid IP changes causing issues you can use the ts.gamerecon.net as the address to join.
Wow, didn’t realise you had such a deep understanding of big data operations, nice!
I is a shame but it is also seriously cheap with fairly decent support you don’t get with other competitively priced solutions, up until this kickup we had 99.98 uptime over four years, so there is that to consider.
I will try again to get the teamspeak up and running latter today but until they return with a thumbs up there is little point in my efforts
You can, however, be sure I’ll have it working for next week’s shenanigans : )
