28 ptsLoL, did I gave the impression that I had problems accessing the servers ? Must be my bad Denglish (dutch-english).
Like I said : All is well againHi all
Bloody Virmach hosting Co. are at it again! The VM hosting our teamspeak server has had it’s IP changed and I cannot access it thrugh ssh
Pissed off is an understatement, nevertheless a ticket has been created and I’ll just have to wait for the converlooted reply.
Apologies to all affected by this but it’s beyond my immediate control
And today this…

Hello,
Your old OpenVZ service has been brought back online. Your IP address is now 199.188.103.2 on this service. Your files are exactly the same and virtualization is the same. This IP is temporary and can and will change on short notice.
We will try the conversion again tomorrow (or contact you as soon as we can) as we were unable to fix the issues with your service today. Your KVM server will retain your IP and that will remain your primary service. This temporary service may go offline as we re-attempt the conversion.
Thanks,
Sr. Sys Admin (In-House)

28 pts@John
Conversions, migrations, updates, etc, this is not the way to run a server hosting company : a big shame on Virmach.
I fully understand you are pissed off with this, been there myself, done the admin on process critical servers. The servers (Novell) did run in a SFC (single fault condition), later they were replaced by Windows servers (Failover Cluster). If one went down/broken the shadow server took over. Not that difficult, but costwise hardly implemented.Wow, didn’t realise you had such a deep understanding of big data operations, nice!
I is a shame but it is also seriously cheap with fairly decent support you don’t get with other competitively priced solutions, up until this kickup we had 99.98 uptime over four years, so there is that to consider.
I will try again to get the teamspeak up and running latter today but until they return with a thumbs up there is little point in my efforts
You can, however, be sure I’ll have it working for next week’s shenanigans : )
Hi all,
Teamspeak is back up, no telling for how long. I’m looking into other hosts for teamspeak, I’ll give plenty of warning if and when it changes, however…
To avoid IP changes causing issues you can use the ts.gamerecon.net as the address to join.
Latter all.

28 ptsI hope Virmach is NOT at it again, but the servers are down and the remote console cannot be reached because 107.172.96.216 is dead….
yep at it again…

Hello,
This is a reminder for the power maintenance scheduled for tomorrow. The datacenter will be performing emergency power maintenance in our San Jose, CA facility on our cabinet.
This will result in power loss to all of our servers in San Jose for approximately 3 hours between 10 AM and 1 PM (PST) on 11/21/2019. The datacenter will take preventative steps to ensure the servers are safely powered down during this maintenance event. To further avoid the risk of data loss, please remotely power down servers before the maintenance window begins.
Please visit the Network Status page in the billing area for any updates about this maintenance. If you have any questions or concerns please contact our support team through the ticketing feature on our billing panel.
Thanks,
VirMach Team

28 ptsThis must have been the cause, servers are back up again. Had to start them maually, have to look into that and fix it….
@lowlander “Had to start them maually, have to look into that and fix it….”
Check the “Task Scheduler” in “Administrative Tools”, I think there is a start up I configured in there but I disabled it because – to use a phrase that windows uses – “something went wrong”. Anything I can do to help, let’s know. : )
I will look into a startup script for cron to get TeamSpeak running at boot.

28 ptsHi John,
That’s one of the several ways to have a prog to startup automaticly. The Coop & Rahnmans links are in the correct startupfolder, from the restart I do sometimes (=warm boot) they both startup fine, but from a “cold boot” (= power down by Virmach ?) for some reason they dont startup, so this was a one time thingy….
