    Adding GRAW to Gamerecon

I’m wanting to add full support for GRAW but to date, I haven’t had any luck getting it to work.

I mean, I don’t see why it should be any different to GRAW2 though you never do know when your working with something quite complex and that of which you didn’t design, nevertheless I will push on with the hope that I’ve missed something and will stumble on upon my errors.

The first and easiest process to add support for a new game is to update the database to accept incoming connections from servers and clients for that particular game [See gslist] and that been done.

    Now comes the harder part:

Download [hexedit] install, copy the .exe [graw.exe] to a folder somewhere and search again for something I’ve missed.

The same process needs to be applied to, and then thoroughly tested for the server [GRAW-standalone.exe] but at this stage, I can’t get the client to connect so that’s bad! Once I’ve gone over all the options and compile enough data logs, I may try and contact the original developer for help but it’s a last resort.

It would greatly help the if members got involved in the testing process, for that matter any process, I’m a one man band and I’m hoping that will change as this is an open project and others are welcome to get involved.

For now, GRAW will need to wait until Ive finnishe migrating my home platform.

    Hello (forgiven my bad English)

I’m also interested in GRAW 1 being taken care of,
    because this game still deserves to be played, although … it has some flaws, plus there are maps in custom level and more loading time Game will be awfully long, too few weapons, and at the level of respawn, Alpha, Bravo, .. and in certain +/- narrow or not, it does not want to make you pop on your group but only on the start point And there … it is necessary to redo often all the way, this little frustrating at times, but despite all that I like the gameplay, and the team spirit in coop (when there is) with a lot of fun ;

There are alternatives to play but +/- inconvenient, Hamachi, Gameranger, Tungle, …
The problem reccurring also with the maps, not everyone has them in full, and one must look at different places, and sometimes not available on Ghostrecon.net lol

I hope that you get to work GRAW 1 on GAMERECON, it will facilitate the access to the players or former players to be able to be there;)

    Hello brigand, (bad English OK)

thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on “Adding GRAW” to Gamerecon, unfortunately, it’s not playing ball with this system  🙄 This is not to say I’m giving up, just that I have not had time to go over the steps again, before I then try to contact the developer that wrote the emulator for more help.

The game does have a lot of issues

One thing I found helpful when playing the single player missions, you can rename the bundle file to .foo to switch between the two different versions of the game, patched & unpatched. ex: when the tanks fall through the map, change version (rename .bundle file .foo) and complete that section, then you can go back to the latest version by naming the bundle file back to its original name.

Subscribe to this post and you’ll be the first to know when I get GRAW working with Gamerecon.

    Also,

check out the graw2 pro coop servers, I don’t believe anyone has ever set up a graw2 “coop server” on a pro network before, in the day it was all TDM, it plays really well, no lag at all, I think you should check it out, I’ve told Pitbull to not use hacks on my servers.

“…. I don’t believe anyone has ever set up a graw2 “coop server” on a pro network before…”

I am afraid NOT.  The <span style=”color: #ff0000;”>Geezer Clan</span> had one running in the USA with RibServer (RIP) and out of my head the <span style=”color: #ff0000;”>-= MIB-EU =-</span> and <span style=”color: #ff0000;”>=GF=[Ghost-Force]</span> clans had several servers running on a pro network.

Oooh, the colour codes dont work here (same problems on the former GameShare website…).

    Readable version :

I am afraid NOT.  The Geezer Clan had one running in the USA with RibServer (RIP) and out of my head the -= MIB =- and =GF=[Ghost-Force] clans also had servers running on a pro network.

    Oh, I stand corrected,

I never noticed. I guess I was also only looking to play TDM back in the day  🙄

I’ll look into the color format, thanks for noticing but I’m not sure what’s wrong?

It seems to work for me. Smiles…

Yes, the last line looks good because its a screen dump BEFORE submitting the message.  The lines above also looked good before submitting.

No big problem though, just reporting some minor flaws (have’nt seen any colour in the all the other messages, apart from yours…..) – LoL

    That’s mad!

Nice work on the prior screen dump, although know one really cares I might dump some of the extra BBCode as it’s a bit over the top. I’ve also noted carriage return formatting issues that need addressing but that’s another story.

Once again, thanks for reporting  🙂
